After returning to Germany, he gained comprehensive expertise and certification in robotic surgery at one of Europe’s leading centers for robotic urology — St. Antonius Hospital in Gronau, Germany — where he worked from 2014 to 2020, specializing in Da Vinci–assisted procedures. He achieved national and European certification as a urologic specialist and was awarded the title of Fellow of the European Board of Urology (FEBU).
Dr. med. Sergey Sarychev (MD, FEBU, FACS) is a board-certified urologic surgeon recognized by the American College of Surgeons and the Swiss, European, German, and Russian Boards of Urology, with extensive experience in robotic and reconstructive urology.
Born in Germany, Sergey Sarychev spent his formative years in Russia. He completed his medical training in Saint Petersburg, specializing in Urology.
He is currently practicing as a urologic surgeon across several hospitals in Switzerland with clinical focus areas in robotic urology, uro-oncology, and reconstructive urology.
In 2022, he successfully defended his doctoral thesis on the impact of obesity on outcomes after robot-assisted radical prostatectomy at the University of Hamburg. In October 2025, he was inducted as a Fellow of the American College of Surgeons (FACS) — becoming the first urologist in Switzerland to receive this honor.
Subsequently, his professional path led him to Switzerland, where he contributed to the development of robotic urology, bladder and prostate cancer programs, and reconstructive robotic techniques at the cantonal hospitals of Frauenfeld and Münsterlingen, serving as Senior Consultant Urologist and Head of Robotic Urology. In 2021, he received official recognition in Switzerland with the subspecialty title “Schwerpunkt Operative Urologie” (advanced specialization in operative urology).
